SCAMPP's organizational needs and monthly newsletter are funded strictly through membershp dues, which really is not enough. Therefore SCAMPP participates in various Pet Expos, Pet Faires and Adoption Events in which we are able to sell small items and collect donations. SCAMPP can only support rescues as funds allow.

Help Needed

Although SCAMPP has many members, a lot of our members reside out of the area or have jobs and/or other obligations that prevent them from participating in our events.

We have local members who work at our SCAMPP Booth at various events and many times they bring their socialized and friendly potbellied pigs to show off.

We sell piggy items, hand out informational literature regarding potbellied pig care and club information, and answer many questions regarding potbellied pigs.

If you have a friendly and socialized potbellied pig(s) that you'd like to show off, or if you are interested in helping at any of our events, please contact Peggy at peggy@scampp.com or 951-685-0467.

Examples of Donations Needed:

Monetary Donations for vet services, needs of rescued piggies, support of sanctuaries and various organizational needs

Donations of items to sell at our SCAMPP Booth at various public events

Donations of blankets, bedding, kiddie swimming pools, feed, housing materials, kennels, crates, etc for rescued piggies

UPCOMING EVENTS


We have several events upcoming in which we will be participating in. At all of the events we participate in, we set up our "SCAMPP Booth" in which:

  • SCAMPP Members will be available at our booth to answer questions about pet pigs.

  • Live Pet Pigs will be on display.

  • Free educational information regarding pigs as pets.

  • Pet pig adoption info will be available.

  • Piggy items are usually available for sale and/or donations accepted as a fundraiser for our organization.

UPCOMING EVENTS TO LOOK FOR US AT:

March 20, 2010 - Riverside Humane Society's Pet Adoption "Walk with The Animals" at Fairmount Park, 2601 Fairmount Blvd, in Riverside, CA. 8am to Noon...Many booths including a pet boutique, a pancake breakfast, various animal-related exhibitors and vendors, opportunity prize drawings, animal health and educational material, K-9 demonstrations and LOTS OF FUN are always on the agenda beginning at 8am! We will set-up our SCAMPP Booth to promote potbellied pigs as pets, hand out potbellied pig educational materials, encourage new membership, and sell piggy items as a fundraiser for SCAMPP. Contact peggy@scampp.com for more info.

April 16-17-18, 2010 - America's Family Pet Expo, Orange County Fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA. Hours: 10am -6pm Friday, 10am - 7pm Saturday, and 10am - 6pm Sunday. Every aspect of the companion animal world gathers at this event to "Tell their story" to the public. Exhibitors include manufacturers, retailers, groomers, veterinarians, hobbyist groups, humane rescue organizations, humane societies, breeders, etc. Almost every kind of companion animal is on display and many are featured in educational demonstrations and seminars. SCAMPP will have two booths set up (one in the Adoption Building area and one in the livestock area on the grass near Gate 3 (Green Gate). More info: http://www.petexpooc.com
